Its first edition was launched on December 4th 1918, founded by Frans Van Cauwelaert, under the objetive to turn into one of the most important Belgian newspapers, reputation it holds today. Its owned by mediahuis and the editors in chief are Bart Sturtewagen y Karel Verhoeven.
